IS YOUR SCARCITY MINDSET BLOCKING YOU?

Besides working with clients for things such as quitting smoking, weight loss and anxiety, I work with clients who seek other life solutions. Many are seeking more success and abundance in their lives. These clients are all working hard to achieve success but nothing is working. There are those who just can’t hold on to money, no matter how much money they make. Or there are clients who have been single for a long time and wish they could find the right relationship, yet it continues to elude them. And in some cases, life just isn’t turning out the way they had imagined. They don’t have the money or things they want and now feel unmotivated and even depressed.

Sounds familiar?

Sometimes you might feel as if you’re stuck in a rut, or spinning around in circles never actually getting anywhere, just running laps on the life treadmill. Perhaps you’ve tried to fight your way out of the old pattern that isn’t working, yet you still seem to be going around and around.

Why is it that some people are always in a state of abundance and things work out no matter what life throws at them, when other people stay broke and struggle no matter how hard they work?

Well, believe it or not, your subconscious mind has a lot to answer for! A lot of this is caused by what is happening on an unconscious level.

The subconscious mind is just SO powerful.

All of the above examples are caused by a scarcity mindset where you constantly feel like you lack the things you want. A lot of my clients don’t even know this is how they are living; they are oblivious to the pattern.

A scarcity mindset is deep down programming that has usually been formed at a very young age and is often passed on from generation to generation. This mindset is a block to what you desire. It holds you back from true growth and success. The good news is, it can be changed – your mindset can be reprogrammed.

You may be familiar with the Law of Attraction or heard of manifesting the life you want. You may have given it a go but perhaps it didn’t work. Why? Because it isn’t going to work if you aren’t feeling it. Many people tell themselves ‘I’ll be happy once I get that promotion’ or ‘I’ll be happy once I meet the right person.’ But in order to achieve it, it’s important to be in the ‘feeling’ state as though you already have it.

For example, if you want to attract millions of dollars into your life, it’s not so much having the million dollars that’s important but the feeling you have living the life of a millionaire. Ask yourself, how will you feel? Happy, content, secure, peaceful? The key is to feel those feelings NOW rather than waiting to feel them WHEN you have what you want. Quantum physics tells us that not only do we have past memories but we can also place memories into the future.

Never underestimate visualisation.

When done with feeling it is extremely powerful. You’ve probably heard of the movie ‘The Secret’ which is all about visualisation and manifesting.  Dr. Denis Waitley talks about how he used the visualisation process from the Apollo program for athletes training for the Olympics in the 80's and 90's. The athletes were hooked up to equipment to study their responses and incredibly the same muscles fired up when they were running the race in their mind as when they were physically running the race. Proof that your mind doesn’t really know if you are physically doing it or just visualising it.

If you want to be rich and successful but you’re constantly feeling depressed, flat, unmotivated, resentful and full of regret because you don’t have what you want, then you’re operating from a scarcity mindset. You’re literally blocking yourself from ever having the life you want.

Start to pay attention to how you think and feel about your life. Do you feel positive and happy or do you feel down in the dumps? To gain traction in the right direction you have to evoke feelings of already having what you want. This is the Law of Attraction, it’s the feeling of having it that attracts it to you – what you think about, you bring about.

If you start to live your life in this happier state there will be no place for the stress, resentment and negativity because we cannot actually experience calm, pleasurable feelings and stressful feelings at the same time.

The hard part is to learn to feel the feelings that you need to evoke. It can be difficult if you’re feeling flat and miserable. To help with this in my hypnotherapy sessions, I work with clients and draw on past memories. I saw a client recently who had spent the last 30 years never having enough money. She had worked hard all her life, had a business that looked successful on the outside but she was unhappy on the inside. She was in fact now homeless and staying with various relatives. At the age of 60 the fear was setting in. She constantly told me she would be happy once she sold her business, moved into her own place and was in a space where she could get back into her art and maybe even sell a few pieces. So, I drew on that …I asked her ‘exactly how will you feel?’. She told me she would feel grateful, light, content, happy, peaceful, safe, secure and creative. I asked her if she had a memory of when she last felt like that and she had felt like that in college – when she didn’t have a care in the world and the world was her oyster. Back then she was in the flow and she was very happy. You see, by thinking of that memory she was evoking those feel-good feelings I’m talking about. Immersing herself in them, bringing them into the now and then drawing on those feelings to visualise her future and reprogram her subconscious mind to work for her, not against her.

We humans are energetic beings and our minds are very powerful. What we think and feel affects how we live. Whether we’re putting out positive or negative vibes our thoughts become things and our lives can sometimes become exactly what we DON’T want. The scarcity mindset is a very common program that can be changed. Hypnotherapy is a painless, efficient and effective tool to reprogram your subconscious mind and rid yourself of the scarcity mindset.
